The average is on the rise in the UK
The phenomenon known as ‘Ozempic penis’ has been explained after a study revealed average penis sizes have been increasing substantially.
The study comes after it was found that the average penis size in the UK has increased by 0.46 in the last two years from 5.17 inches to 5.63.
This recent study found the UK to be the eighth on the list of fastest growing penises in the world over the last two years.
For those curious, the fastest growers over that period have been the Venezuelans who have seen a 1.42 inch increase, hitting a mindboggling 6.67 inches.
On the other end of the scale, the Italians saw the biggest decrease with their average coming in at under five inches.
Amongst a range of factors which could have an effect on this phenomenon is the heavily trending type two diabetes drug Ozempic which many people have been using for weight-loss.
Speaking to Diabetes.co.uk, Dr Richard Viney said: “Men’s penises shorten as they get older (due to) increasing body fat and increasing prostate size drawing the penis back into the body.
“It is theoretically possible new drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, which are used to treat diabetes and obesity respectively and can cause people to lose weight, could also be a factor. As men lose weight, their penises appear larger.”
However, pharmacist Navin Khosla said: “While the data is interesting, penis size doesn’t matter in a medical sense.”
Khosla added: “Just like how some people prefer different fashion styles, eye colours, or characteristics in a partner, some people are more attracted to larger penises or breasts, while others prefer smaller ones.”
It must be noted that the data collected, from a range of studies, were done where some were self reported.
